About Compress PDF
Large PDFs are hard to email and slow to upload. Most of their size usually comes from photos and scanned pages, which this tool re-saves at a sensible resolution and quality.
Choose Light, Recommended or Strong compression. Text and vector graphics aren't changed, the file is processed in your browser, and you see the before and after sizes — if a PDF can't be made meaningfully smaller, the tool tells you.

It depends on what's inside. PDFs with photos or scanned pages usually shrink a lot, because images are re-saved at a sensible size and quality. PDFs that are mostly text are often already compact; if the file can't be made meaningfully smaller, the tool tells you instead of giving you the same file back.
Yes. Text and vector graphics aren't changed — only JPEG photos are re-compressed. The Light level doesn't touch images at all.
