About Encrypt PDF
Share a PDF while controlling what recipients can do with it. Allow or block printing, copying text and images, editing, and comments or form filling.
An owner password protects those permissions, and you can also require a separate password to open the file. Encryption is AES-256 and happens in your browser.

Encrypt PDF accepts one PDF file. Each file can be up to 50 MB. Files are checked when you add them, so anything that isn't a valid PDF file is rejected with an explanation.
No. Encrypt PDF runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device.
The open password is needed to view the PDF. The owner password controls the permissions. If you don't set an open password, anyone can view the file, but the permissions still apply.
Standard PDF readers respect them, but some editing software can ignore permission settings on a file that opens without a password. For stronger protection, also require a password to open the PDF.
It can't be recovered — not by us or anyone else. PDFToolsHub never sees or stores your password, so keep it somewhere safe before sharing the file.
